Extreme sports have always been a controversial topic. Some people argue that everybody should be able to choose any sports or activities they wish while others believe those risky sports should be prohibited. In my opinion, dangerous sports should be completely banned because they don’t provide sufficient benefits to either the people who do it or society.
A lot of sports enthusiasts may insist that people should be free to pick the activities they love as long as they don’t harm others or negatively affect the environment. It is true that currently. there is no specific law prohibiting people from taking part in dangerous sports like sky diving, scuba diving or rock climbing. Any citizens could sign up for those activities without violating the state’s regulations and practices. Moreover, many sports lovers claim they benefit mentally from doing extreme sports as they overcome the fears and emotional challenges. From their point of view, the experience and excitement acquired from dangerous activities surpass the potential risks.
On the other hand, extreme sports are considered too risky and a lot of people expect those to be banned by the government. First and foremost, high-risk activities like rock climbing or scuba diving pose significant threats to the takes. The participants are susceptible to serious injuries and trauma. For example, scuba divers may experience panic attack or breathing difficulties which could lead to fatality or take a huge toll on the divers. Secondly, I believe the benefits those extreme sports provide is less significant than the harms they bring. Dangerous sports participants don’t really improve their health remarkably and those sports are not believed to create too many jobs or revenue to the local community.
In conclusion, I strongly believe dangerous sports should not be legal because they are highly fatal and the benefits they bring are outweighed by the risks they pose.
